About the role

Edge Hill University is seeking an inspirational and strategic leader to join its Executive Team as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education & Student Success). This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our educational offer aligned to our new 5-year Strategic Plan “Our Connected Futures”.

Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, you will provide strategic leadership across the University’s academic portfolio, driving excellence in teaching, learning, digital innovation, student success, and academic quality. You will lead our three academic faculties and the Centre for Enhanced Learning and Teaching (CELT), ensuring a high-performing and inclusive environment where staff and students can thrive.

We are looking for a visionary and collaborative leader with significant senior leadership experience in higher education, a strong understanding of the evolving sector landscape, and a proven ability to deliver strategic change, organisational growth, and outstanding student outcomes.

At Edge Hill, you will join a values-led institution recognised nationally for student experience, social mobility, teaching excellence, and research impact. With substantial recent investment in our campus and an ambitious strategic vision, this is an exciting time to help shape the next chapter of our success.

About you

You are an inspiring academic leader with a strong track record of delivering excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes. You bring authenticity, strategic insight, and the ability to lead with values in a complex, fast‑moving sector. You combine intellectual credibility with a collaborative leadership style, empowering teams, championing equity and inclusion, and fostering innovation—particularly in digital education.

You are adept at navigating policy, political, and economic landscapes, translating external developments into clear institutional strategy. Above all, you are motivated by the opportunity to shape a high‑impact, future‑focused academic environment where staff and students can flourish.

At Edge Hill University we value the benefits a rich and diverse workforce brings to our community and therefore welcome applications from all sections of society.
