Job overview
Terms of Appointment: Fixed term/Secondment until 31/03/2027. Individuals who hold permanent (substantive) employment within the NHS may only be appointed via secondment. Approval for a secondment must be obtained from your current line manager prior to submitting an application.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research and Evaluation Division in Public Health Wales as a Research and Evaluation Fellow, within the Evaluation team. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a rigorous evaluation of a national school-based programme, applying advanced quantitative methods within a quasi-experimental design to generate robust and actionable evidence. This is a unique opportunity to work within the NHS, delivering insights to inform public health policy and practice.
Main duties of the job
The right person for the role will have highly developed specialist knowledge in appropriate complex quantitative analytical approaches in a public health-related field for research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. You will have a strong background in data and statistics, and experience in a field related to public health. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, experience working collaboratively with others across disciplines and providing technical leadership in the delivery of robust evaluation in public health.
This role sits within a supportive and multi-disciplinary team, embedded within a Directorate with a strong focus on evidence, data and data science in public health. The successful candidate will bring an aptitude to problem solve and be motivated by delivering robust evidence to inform action and make a difference to population health.
