The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Liverpool is looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Structural Engineering as a member of the Teaching and Scholarship (T&S) staff.
The person appointed will join a team of lecturers focussed on the development and delivery of a curriculum and pedagogy for teaching structural engineering across the Civil and Architectural Engineering programme areas.
We are seeking a Senior Lecturer who will take a creative approach to shaping our learning and teaching in this area, drawing on innovative best practice from industry. This post will also involve individual research project supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; leading small group pastoral tutorials; and a range of administrative duties in the Department.
The post is permanent, subject to a probationary period. Applications are welcome from those with a background in teaching structural engineering at university, or from those with design experience gained in industry and who now wish to transfer their skills and experience into a higher education setting. Regardless of background, candidates should be passionate about learning and teaching; and willing to undertake further professional development.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 14 July 2026.
