The Faculty of Social Science invites applications for a post at Lecturer rank for the new inter-Faculty undergraduate programme in Diplomacy and International Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. This innovative programme aims to nurture high-level, interdisciplinary talent who are proficient in both Chinese and Western cultures and are prepared to excel in international relations, international organizations and diplomatic arenas. With a particular focus on China’s role in global governance, the programme sees to students’ developing a deep understanding of the historical, cultural, and political dimensions of China’s engagement in international affairs. The appointee will be responsible for

• Supporting the development and continuous improvement of the new inter-Faculty undergraduate programme in meeting international standards;
• Teaching and supporting curriculum design in areas such as international relations, international law and related disciplines; and
• Coordinating programme administration, student advising, and collaborative activities with various programme partners/ stakeholders.

Applicants are expected to:

• Have a PhD degree in International Relations/ International Law or related disciplines;
• Possess teaching experience in international relations, international law or related disciplines; and
• Be committed to and experienced in interdisciplinary collaboration, curriculum innovation, and student engagement.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to two years initially, targeted to start in August 2026 or as soon as practicable thereafter, renewable subject to performance, funding availability, and mutual agreement.
