Do you want to support digital pathology and translational cancer research projects? 

This role provides technical support to translational research studies through sample tracking, data handling and digital workflows. You will work with real-world histopathology samples and associated information, following established procedures to ensure all work is carried out in line with required standards. The role focuses on accurate processing, record keeping and consistent application of defined protocols which is key to supporting the team’s entire cancer research portfolio. 

You will support the retrieval of tissue samples from NHS archives and external holdings, assist with consent status checks using approved systems, and maintain clear and auditable records. You will contribute to multiple studies at the same time, working to agreed priorities and timelines.

Full training will be provided, and you will be expected to apply processes carefully and consistently. 

The post is based in the Women’s Health Research Group, which conducts innovative, translational research to improve outcomes for women with gynaecological cancers, with a particular focus on endometrial and ovarian disease. Combining molecular biology, digital pathology, and advanced data analytics, the group investigates tumour biology and the immune microenvironment to identify clinically relevant biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Through close integration with clinical and academic partners, the team is committed to advancing precision medicine and delivering research that directly benefits patients.
