The Aston School of Computer Science and Digital Technologies is looking to recruit two lecturers in Cybersecurity to further grow our capacity in research and teaching in this area. As the successful candidate you will be expected to teach across several areas of computer science and cybersecurity including opportunities at our London Campus and overseas.
Aston University has a very ambitious strategy in digital technologies, which benefits the school directly in both its research and teaching environments, providing exciting opportunities to develop your research and teaching career.
The school is experiencing a period of growth in terms of research activity and student recruitment in the digital sciences: computer science, cyber security, artificial intelligence and data science. You will have the opportunity to carry out research within our Cyber Security Research Centre (CyberHub) within the school. Collaborations are possible with several other research centres and institutes within the University, and candidates are encouraged to look at our website for more information. We also host the Aston Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research and Application and have close links with the Sir Peter Rigby Digital Futures Institute.
To strengthen our existing teaching and research strengths we are particularly keen to attract applicants with expertise in cyber security operations, automation & response (SOAR); infrastructure operations, including security, monitoring, management, control and automation; autonomous systems for cybersecurity; network security; malware analysis; incident response; digital forensics; secure programming and delivery (Secure DevOps); ethical hacking and penetration testing. We welcome applications from candidates combining AI-assisted techniques with cybersecurity.
You will have an excellent research track record, commensurate with your career stage, and demonstrate the ability to produce high quality research outputs and impact. You will also have the opportunity to support the development and delivery of engaging teaching activities and contribute to the wider curriculum within the School.
