About the role:
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join an EPSRC-funded research project investigating the structural integrity of cryogenic hydrogen fuel systems for next-generation zero-carbon aviation.
You will develop state-of-the-art computational modelling approaches to study cyclic thermal-mechanical loading, hydrogen-metal interactions and localised plastic deformation in novel heat exchanger architectures. The work combines advanced solid mechanics, finite element modelling and multi-physics simulation, contributing directly to the UK’s Net Zero ambitions and the global transition toward sustainable aviation technologies.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact interdisciplinary project with strong industrial relevance, while developing expertise in computational mechanics, hydrogen technologies and structural integrity assessment.
