Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF). The university was founded in 2010 to continue fulfilling QF’s vision of unlocking human potential. HBKU is a homegrown research-intensive University offering undergraduate and graduate degrees that acts as a catalyst for positive transformation in Qatar and the region while having a global impact.
Doha is the home of Education City (https://www.qf.org.qa/education/higher-education), a dedicated campus devoted to research and education. In addition to HBKU, Education City hosts other academic institutions, including Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, VCUarts Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, and Georgetown University in Qatar. Education City has significantly contributed to the development of post-secondary education and cultural growth in Qatar.
About Entity:
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) established the College of Public Policy in 2019. The College has three degrees (Master of Public Policy, Master of Social Policy and Program Evaluation, Master of Global Health Policy) and Executive Programs (in collaboration with Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva). The College works to empower the next generation of ethically grounded public leaders in Qatar and beyond. Students are given an inclusive and diverse learning environment that promotes a culture of excellence, integrity, respect, and fairness. All faculty members are active in research with broad agenda addressing national and global challenges and policy priorities.
The Master of Global Health Policy (MGHP) program prepares graduates to address complex health challenges through policy analysis, interdisciplinary evidence, stakeholder engagement, ethical leadership, and public-service-oriented decision-making. The program combines a strong foundation in global health systems, health economics, advocacy, crises and emergency settings, and research methods, while offering both a Capstone track and a Master’s Thesis track to support diverse professional and academic aspirations. Positioned at the intersection of public policy and global health, the MGHP program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, analytical tools, and practical skills needed to contribute to health policy development, implementation, and evaluation in Qatar, the region, and globally.
Position: Full Professor
To conduct teaching, research and service to contribute to HBKU becoming a world-class research university and collaborate with faculty members and students to create a vibrant university community that will positively impact and contribute to the development of Qatar and the region by advancing knowledge in their field and developing human capacity through their teaching.
