We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Education (Medical Sciences) to join our team of academics and clinicians delivering the new 4-year Graduate-entry medicine (GEM) programme at the Norwich Medical School, which started in September 2025.The role will develop, deliver and support teaching activities across all years of the GEM programme, in particular Year 1.
You will have previous experience of teaching and/or research in a medical science discipline (e.g., biochemistry, physiological sciences, pharmacology and therapeutics, pathology) and be a strong team player who will work alongside colleagues from different medical science disciplines, clinical specialities, and university teams to develop innovative teaching sessions and programmes of study, with an emphasis on relating medical sciences to clinical practice.
It is envisaged that this role will provide exceptional career development and training, with opportunities in curriculum and assessment development, educational scholarship and course evaluation, student support, and academic administration and citizenship.
You will be supported to develop further qualifications such as postgraduate certificate and master’s degree in medical education, fellowships of the Higher Education Academy and attending and presenting at local, national and international medical education-related conferences.
You must have a first degree and PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area with proven experience of high quality undergraduate and/or post-graduate teaching and student assessment including coursework and examinations. An interest in relevant enterprise and engagement activities would be advantageous.
This full-time post is available from 1 July 2026 on an indefinite basis.
