Salary: £33,002 to £35,608
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 26th May 2026
Closes: 18th June 2026
Job Ref: NS49791

Location: Central Cambridge

Cambridge Judge Business School leverages the power of academia to drive real-world impact, transforming individuals, organisations, and society. Since 1990, Cambridge Judge has forged a reputation as a centre of rigorous thinking and high-impact transformative education, situated within one of the world's most prestigious research universities, and in the heart of the Cambridge Cluster, the most successful technology entrepreneurship cluster in Europe.

The El-Erian Institute of Behavioural Economics and Policy (EEI) at Cambridge Judge aims to identify new ways to address social and environmental challenges and improve lives by leveraging the combined expertise of faculty at Cambridge Judge and researchers across the University of Cambridge. We cover a wide range of topics and research clusters ( https://www.jbs.cam.ac.uk/centres/el-erian-behavioural-economics/research/).

We are looking to recruit two full-time Research Assistants to support the research, outreach, and teaching of our interdisciplinary researcher team.

The role of a Research Assistant is largely supportive, however, as a team member, you will also have the opportunity to expand your skill set, participate in all Institute activities, and potentially publish. You will be expected to support a range of teaching, outreach, and research-related tasks, including conducting literature searches, data retrieval, cleaning and analysis, preparing teaching materials, supporting project proposal writing, contributing to paper development and editing, and supporting the outreach events of the Institute.

You should have a first-degree (Bachelor's), however, a Master's degree is highly desirable. A background in economics, psychology, behavioural science, data science, or a related discipline is welcome. Fluency in English writing, reading, and speaking is a must. Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, a thorough grounding in behavioural theories, as well as the ability to work independently, are essential. Good time management and planning skills with a commitment to delivery are key. Publication experience is highly welcome but not a prerequisite. You should be a self-motivated individual who is driven, committed, and able to demonstrate initiative and to deliver high-quality output on time.

Hybrid working possible, but expectation to move to Cambridge and be there in person for at least 3 days per week during term.

Please submit your online application form, together with a cover letter, CV, a statement outlining your research and teaching expertise, and, where available, evidence of your written work (provided as a retrievable reference or URL, along with the title page and abstract or executive summary). Please do not submit full papers.

Also, provide the names and contact details of two referees we can contact if you are shortlisted.

Fixed term: The funds for this post are available for one year in the first instance.

The interviews will take place in the first two weeks of July.
