Oxford Lifelong Learning in the Department for Continuing Education is seeking to appoint a Departmental Tutor in French language to help deliver our teaching offering in this area.
About the role
The role will primarily focus on the design, teaching, assessment, curriculum development and review of adult lifelong learning courses in French. The role holder will design the content and learning materials within existing frameworks and procedures and make appropriate modifications on the basis of knowledge or experience of the learners. Tutors work collaboratively to ensure high standards are maintained and in accordance with the Department's Mission, Vision and Values. Teaching will primarily take place in the evening.
This is a part-time (0.2 FTE) position, available on a permanent contract. The post-holder will act as a member of the Oxford Lifelong Learning’s Languages and Cultural Studies team, which includes the Director of Studies. The successful candidate will be teaching in person.
About you
You will be expected to have excellent communication skills in both French and English, a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject, experience of supporting adult learners and diverse learner groups in making the most of their studies, and extensive experience of French language teaching. A teaching qualification or Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy would be an advantage.
