The Operations and Service Management Department (OSM) specialises in teaching and researching across all areas of service, production, systems, and project management and has three research centres: Advanced Services, Circular Economy, and Crises Management.
We have a thriving teaching and scholarship, research and business engagement culture in the OSM Department, which has a strong reputation for being rigorous, relevant and entrepreneurial. We support participation in international research projects, conferences, teaching innovations and supervision of PhD/DBAs, and we encourage business engagement and corporate client opportunities.
As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking inspirational and highly motivated individuals to contribute to the development of the Department’s research, teaching and scholarship activities. We are currently looking for a project management specialist with project management qualifications and or experience in areas that include information technology design and implementation, new product and service development, construction, complex systems, innovation and organisational change. We are keen to discuss new ideas to strengthen our research, complement our business support provision and support our teaching and learning activities.
You will have a relevant first degree in a subject such as IS/ICT, technology, innovation, engineering management, new product development, or equivalent, as well as a higher research degree in a relevant academic discipline (e.g. project management, circular economy / low carbon, service delivery, humanitarian relief, digitalisation or systems thinking). You must also be able to demonstrate an established or emerging path of research with links to teaching and learning, and engagement with external stakeholders. We are looking for people with a ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ attitude who are or near to publishing in top tier academic journals.
This post is being offered as a Lecturer in Operations Management specializing in Project Management. You are likely to be appointed to Lecturer Grade 8 depending on your skills and experience. The post is available to start as soon as possible in time for the academic year 2026-2027.
