Teaching Technician (Biology and Biochemistry)

Part Time: 28 Hours per week

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated Biology and Biochemistry Teaching Technician to join our Technical Services team. You will play a vital role in supporting high-quality practical teaching across foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contributing to subjects such as molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, environmental science along with primary education science. 

Working across Moray House School of Education and Sport and the Centre for Open Learning, you will help deliver practical classes, prepare and maintain laboratory materials, equipment and spaces, and provide hands-on support to staff and students. This is an exciting time to join our team as we expand our STEM provision here on the Holyrood campus, including the development of our Biological, Chemical, Biomedical and Environmental Sciences Foundation Programme. 

Your Skills and Attributes for Success: 

• A qualification in biological sciences or a related discipline, or relevant laboratory experience. 
• Practical experience working in a laboratory environment and confidence supporting biological and biochemical techniques.
