Within the Collections and Academic Services Group, the Academic Liaison & Collection Development (ALCD) Team (currently 6.4FTE) leads on the Library’s liaison activities and in developing our teaching, learning and research collections.
The ALCD Manager is responsible for leading and co-ordinating our liaison with academic departments and working across the Library to develop and promote library services. The post holder also develops and maintains the Library’s Collection Development Policy in support of the School’s information resources needs.
Candidates should have experience of working in an academic library and of liaison work with academic departments. They should also have experience of building library collections, selecting material and developing in-depth knowledge of research collections. Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a qualification in librarianship or information science.
This role is primarily based on site and is designed to support a user-focused working environment, with effective in-person collaboration, visible team leadership, and active liaison with colleagues, students, and the academic community.
