About the role
We are seeking to recruit an organised, reliable and enthusiastic lecturer in English Language and Linguistics.
The responsibilities of the postholder will be to contribute to teaching and assessment on several modules across the BA English Language and Linguistics, the MA TESOL and potentially other programmes in the Centre for LDC. The postholder will convene, teach and mark on the module English Grammar, which is a second year UG module on the BA English Language and Linguistics, as well as teach on other modules likely covering foundational topics in English language, such as Discourse Analysis and Language Teaching Methods. There may also be opportunities to contribute to more specialised modules. The postholder will also undertake UG and PG supervision, and act as personal tutor to UG students.
The post is offered on the Academic Education Pathway, offering the postholder the opportunity to undertake scholarship in English language and linguistics alongside their teaching.
Additionally, the role will involve contributing to the smooth running of the School by taking on organisational responsibilities as directed by the Head of School.
This is a 0.3 FTE post that will be offered on a two-year, fixed term contract until from 01/09/2026 to 31/08/2028.
