The UCL Global Business School for Health (GBSH) at UCL East campus is an innovative business school in preparing future healthcare leaders to disrupt and reimagine global health systems. GBSH is dedicated to training and developing the next generation of leaders in the global health economy by building on UCL’s proud tradition of cross-disciplinary academic excellence in education and research. GBSH develops talent from all sectors – policy makers, technologists and entrepreneurs – to challenge conventional thinking, to improve health outcomes and address health inequalities world-wide.
This post supports delivery of UCL Global Business School for Health’s new MSc Global Healthcare Management specialism in healthcare analytics through co-delivery with the UCL Institute of Health Informatics. The successful candidate is expected to provide academic leadership for the Analytics specialism route, including curriculum development and student support.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Health Informatics or related area and would be expected to contribute to our research in the area of health informatics. We particularly welcome candidates with an established and growing track record of high-quality research, including collaboration with healthcare organisation and/or the use of routinely collected healthcare data, for example in primary and/or secondary care settings, to support both fundamental research and quality improvement initiatives. Given the interdisciplinary approach to health challenges taken at Global Business School for Health, we would expect this person to be able to effectively work across multiple health care organisations and academic partners.
Moreover, the candidate will need to be able to teach and supervise students across a health and healthcare context and/or other related areas.
As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits some of which can be found by visiting UCL rewards and benefits.
As London’s Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation, and we want our community to represent the diversity of the world’s talent. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL’s workforce. These include people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds; disabled people; LGBTQI+ people; and for our Grade 9 and 10 roles, women.
