About us
King’s Business School (KBS) is a triple-accredited, London-based business school that has grown rapidly in scale over the past 9 years. We recruit top students from over 80 countries and offer educational and extra curricular opportunities that equip them with the practical skills and experience to grow into confident, adaptable leaders.
King’s Business School is recruiting a fifth Undergraduate Faculty Tutor to join our team of Professional Personal Tutors who provide high quality, proactive academic and pastoral support to our undergraduate students.
The post-holder will join the Student Support Team within the wider KBS Education Team and work alongside four Undergraduate Faculty Tutors, Student Support Manager and Senior Student Support Manager to provide high quality, student focused support and guidance.
About the role
We are seeking candidates who have experience of either teaching or experience of supporting academic and personal development in an education institution. You will be highly organised, motivated, and able to work well in a team as well as independently with limited supervision. You will have a good understanding of the student lifecycle, the skills necessary for study at undergraduate level, safeguarding protocols and experience of dealing with students who may be navigating complex difficulties and may need support through signposting and referral.
The post holder will be the personal tutor for a set group of students and will hold regular in-person and online one to one and group meetings with these students. They will provide support for undergraduate students through meetings, workshops and via email and provide written references and other administrative support, including contributing towards monitoring attainment and attendance to plan meaningful interventions. Collaboration across the Student Support Team is key to success within this role, though the post holder will also need to be able to maintain responsibility for making most day to day decisions independently.
The post holder will develop their understanding of our support mechanisms and services across King’s College London and facilitate meaningful, student-centred conversations. The post holder will clearly signpost and refer as appropriate, as helping students make the most of their time with KBS and find the support. The post holder will be required to keep accurate records and understand confidentiality and GDPR around sensitive data. They will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data pertaining to student engagement and success and will be expected to contribute towards ongoing improvement through analysis and innovation.
This is a full-time post, 35 hours per week, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
This is a hybrid role: the post-holder will spend a minimum of two days per week on campus. The post-holder will be expected to attend campus more regularly during periods of peak annual activity and to meet business needs.
This post is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks as it will involve working with students under the age of 18.
Full details of the role and the skills, knowledge and experience required can be found in the Job Description document, provided at the bottom of the page. This document will provide information of what criteria will be assessed at each stage of the recruitment process.
