We are recruiting for an exceptional ScotGEM Programme Director.
The ScotGEM programme is taught through a partnership between the universities of St Andrews and Dundee in collaboration with NHS Fife, NHS Tayside, NHS Highland, NHS Dumfries and Galloway and the University of the Highlands and Islands. This exciting partnership has enabled us to create a truly distinctive programme.
The post of Director of ScotGEM is an exciting full-time clinical academic post and a key strategic appointment within the Schools of Medicine.
The post is dedicated purely to the ScotGEM programme with recognition, office space and core academic support functions across both institutions and has responsibility for shaping and delivering the overall ScotGEM programme and will be part of both academic institutions but primarily responsible to the Deans of Medicine and ScotGEM Joint Programme Board. The duties may be any of those listed below but will vary with the requirements of the programme.
The post holder will agree outcomes with the Joint Programme Board. They will be responsible for planning, prioritising and allocating their own work and will have freedom to initiate, implement and deliver outcomes within the agreed framework. The post holder will be expected to work independently, maintain effective time management and prioritise tasks appropriately.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will continue with a clinical commitment for 2-5 sessions per week, although this may vary according to individual needs/ preferences. Depending on previous experience, the post will carry either Senior Lecturer, Reader or Chair status within the University. The post-holder is expected to undertake Continuing Professional Development and participate in normal revalidation and appraisal processes.
