This post is essential to ensure high-quality, consistent delivery of core medical/healthcare curriculum content and compliance with the General Medical Council (GMC) in Pharmacology and Prescribing. This is particularly essential for the training of medical students who require a high level of knowledge in medical pharmacology and prescribing to pass the medical licensing assessment (MLA) and prescribing safely assessment (PSA) as required by the General Medical Council (GMC).
The successful candidate will be responsible for Medical Pharmacology and Prescribing on the MBChB and MSc PA courses. You will to be responsible for designing and developing learning materials and will make a significant contribution to lectures, practical teaching and the assessment for medical students, as well as contributing to the delivery of a high-quality student experience, working with the Phase and Programme Leads. Applicants are expected to have a track record of research in a relevant field and engage in research and scholarship.
The post is offered at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level depending on the successful candidate’s level of qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. Ideally you will already have experience of teaching medical students or similar. However, key to the role is an interest in developing as a medical educator and the ability to work flexibly with the rest of the team to meet the needs of the MBChB curriculum.
