About the role
A 2-year fixed-term teaching and research appointment in English literature, with a core focus on the early modern period, is available for an outstanding academic at an early stage of their career. The appointee will be expected to provide undergraduate and graduate teaching on a range of topics in English language and literature for the English Faculty and Oriel College. The purpose of the post is to cover the Faculty and College teaching of Professor Kathryn Murphy while she serves as Associate Head of the Humanities Division (Education).
It is anticipated that the appointee will take up the post on 1 October 2026.
About you
You will hold (or be near completion) of a Doctorate level degree in English literature or a related field, and have a proven research and publication record, appropriate to your career stage, in early modern English literature.
