We are looking for someone to join our internationally renowned, and friendly, stroke research group and help us with our exciting clinical trials and studies in stroke.
The post holder will assist in recruitment to and perform assessments in a number of these studies within the stroke research group. They will particularly focus on studies involving cerebral small vessel disease, which is the most common cause of vascular dementia. Roles will include screening and identifying patients, contacting potential recruits and consenting them, completing clinical research forms, performing cognitive assessments and blood taking, entering data into databases and simple data analyses.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and experience of recruiting to human studies, although experience in stroke is not necessary. Although this post is primarily to help with clinical studies, there is an opportunity to become involved in analysing data and presenting work at external stroke meetings. Previous post-holders have progressed to PhDs in the post or research posts elsewhere. The post would suit a graduate in a degree relevant to biomedical sciences.
This post will be based in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge within the stroke research team and the clinical stroke service at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It involves full-time on-site working.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.
