About the Role
Working within the Library Learning Support and Engagement (LLSE) team, you will coordinate and deliver a programme of academic and study skills support for undergraduate and postgraduate students across disciplines. This includes designing and facilitating workshops, group tutorials and one-to-one sessions, alongside developing high-quality online resources. You will lead on planning the annual schedule of provision, working closely with academic schools to embed skills support within curricula and respond to evolving student needs.
In addition, you will contribute to cross-university initiatives, support peer-led learning activities, and engage in projects that enhance student learning, including provision for distance and transnational learners.
About You
You will have experience of delivering academic or study skills support in a higher education context, with a strong understanding of pedagogical approaches that support diverse learners. You should be confident teaching across a range of formats (face-to-face, online and blended), and able to develop engaging, inclusive learning materials.
You will be proactive, adaptable and able to work independently, using initiative to respond effectively to changing priorities. You will also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with students, academic staff and professional services colleagues. Knowledge of key areas such as academic writing, critical thinking, academic integrity and digital literacies (including the ethical use of AI) is essential.

About Queen Mary
At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.
Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.
Our reformer heritage informs our conviction that great ideas can and should come from anywhere. It’s an approach that has brought results across the globe, from the communities of east London to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.
Benefits
We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities.
