About the Role

Informal Queries

  • For informal queries about the role, please contact Suzanne White (Line Manager - Portfolio Delivery), at Suzanne.White@warwick.ac.uk.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and mature a growing Portfolio Office at a pivotal moment in the University’s digital transformation journey. As Portfolio Office Manager, you’ll shape the processes, governance, and culture that underpin the University’s most significant digital change initiatives.

You’ll have the freedom to design and embed best‑practice PMO approaches, champion Agile delivery, and influence senior decision‑makers across the institution. With oversight of resourcing, benefits, performance, and strategic reporting across a large and diverse delivery function, this role offers genuine scope to create lasting impact.

This role provides both autonomy and purpose — the chance to build a high‑performing team and contribute to the successful delivery of meaningful improvements in teaching, research, student experience and operational efficiency. You’ll join a supportive environment that values professional development, continuous improvement, and collaboration over hierarchy.

The University of Warwick is a vibrant, welcoming and ambitious community where people are genuinely valued. Colleagues enjoy a strong commitment to work–life balance, with generous annual leave, flexible and hybrid working options, and a supportive culture centred on trust and wellbeing. Warwick offers excellent development opportunities, access to outstanding benefits, and an inspiring place to work on a lively, modern campus with a wide range of places to eat, exercise and unwind.

About You

You will be an experienced PMO or delivery leader who thrives on building structure, clarity, and capability in complex environments. You’re confident working with senior stakeholders, shaping strategic conversations, and driving high standards across delivery.

You bring significant experience in:

  • Leading and motivating teams in a matrix setting
  • Establishing or maturing Portfolio Office functions, ideally within an Agile environment.
  • Resource planning, progress tracking, and portfolio reporting at scale.
  • Implementing consistent practices across risk, issue, benefit and dependency management.
  • Managing large budgets and presenting insights to senior leaders.

You’ll also be someone who invests in people, supporting skills development, performance, career pathways, and an inclusive, high‑performance culture.

Most importantly, you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, improving ways of working, and enabling others to succeed.
