The role

Join our vibrant and ambitious team at the University of Bristol Business School. This is an exciting moment for the School as we expand to our Temple Quarter Campus, alongside the Clifton campus. The Business School are seeking two proactive and highly organised Executive Assistants on a fixed-term contract basis until 31 December 2026. The role holder will be required to provide a professional, efficient, and effective service. You will form part of a dynamic team of administrators who work closely with colleagues across the school to ensure key school activities are managed and delivered on time.

The Executive Assistant will support Heads of (Academic) Groups with administrative support around people processes, as well as group activities and events. The successful role holder will need to exhibit tact, discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Independence and initiative will be required to react to changing priorities and work circumstances, with a scope to make decisions within their own remit. The role holder will organise their own day-to-day workload to meet objectives. They will require knowledge of a range of IT systems, including SharePoint and university processes to proactively support the school. The role will be based in Howard House and Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, and includes blended working in line with the schools’ guidance.

What will you be doing?

The role holder will support school staff as part of a team of Professional Services staff. Key duties include:

  • Providing efficient administrative support for Heads of Groups within the school. ·
  • Supporting school level people-focused activities. For example, recruitment, induction, and office set up.
  • Drafting school communications, including using creative programmes to maximise impact.
  • Servicing committee meetings.
  • Organising both internal and external events, online and in person.
  • Proactively seeking to improve school processes and keep resourc

You have excellent organisational, customer service, written and verbal communication skills.

  • You can complete tasks to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • You are flexible and a key team player, as well as being able to work independently and use initiative.
  • You can work in a busy environment, both multi-tasking and reacting quickly to changing circumstances, as well as be proactive in improving processes.
  • You are experienced and confident in using a range of IT systems, and can adapt to new systems and processes well.

Additional information

Contract type: Fixed term until 31/12/26 (cover role)

Hybrid Working: 3 days minimum on campus each week, with flexibility for which days on site (dependent on business needs).
