Cardiff Professional Legal Studies (CPLS) is the department within the School of Law and Politics which currently offers the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), Solicitors Practice Course (SPC) and Bar Training Course (BTC) - postgraduate routes to professional qualification for solicitors and barristers. Cardiff University is the only Russell Group University to offer all these courses. CPLS also provides nationwide assessment of Duty Solicitors, Police Station Representatives, and expert witnesses. Its courses – delivered by professionally qualified staff - are well established, highly regarded within the profession and command excellent levels of satisfaction from students.

The School wishes to appoint a suitably qualified lecturer able to contribute to the teaching of all its programmes but focused on the courses delivered by CPLS. The ability to teach  one or more vocational modules on the BTC and the SPC is essential, as is the ability to deliver legal skills training.

This position is full time (35 hours per week), open ended and available immediately. Part time work will be considered but is dependent on the needs of the School.

Salary:  £51,039 - £55,755 per annum (Grade 7)
Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at the bottom of the scale, unless there are exceptional circumstances
