This post is full time, 35 hours per week and is fixed term for 12 months. 

As Supplier and Contracts Lead for the Digital & Technology Services department, you will lead on all aspects of supplier engagement and contractual commitments, managing a portfolio of contracts ranging from small-scale tactical suppliers to multi-million pound strategic partners.

Working collaboratively across the DTS department and its customers, you will provide expertise, guidance and advice to support the work of the varied teams within the department, building supplier relationships, holding contractual review meetings, and planning key contract renewals and tenders. You will work closely with the University’s Central Procurement team, ensuring all procurement in the DTS department follows compliant processes, and you will negotiate on all new contracts, ensuring best value for money is achieved.  

During the tenure of this role, it is expected that the role holder will contribute to a reshaping of the role, aligned to a new target operating model, and accounting for changes in the Central Procurement Team structure.

To be effective in this role, you will:

    • Have experience of managing multi-£million capital project and revenue contracts, including the preparation of complex technical specifications, cost plans and business benefits proposals to evidence positive ROI
    • Have experience negotiating with suppliers on contractual terms, including SLAs and KPIs, and preparing associated documentation
    • Have experience in advising on and mitigating areas of contractual risk with suppliers and their associated services
    • Have experience managing the end-to-end contractual process with a record of success in delivering a high-quality service
    • Have knowledge of current procurement and financial legislation and sector trends and proven experience to appropriately apply these in practice.
    • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, within a given portfolio of work
