Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Business Data Analytics who will contribute to strengthen our research and teaching portfolio in data analytics and AI. You will be involved in research and teaching in the broad area of information systems with a focus on data analytics and AI with associated responsibilities in administration. You will contribute to the advancement of research, teaching and training provision in digital and AI, which is part of the strategic direction at Henley Business School in the Department of Digitalisation, Marketing and Entrepreneurship (DME).
You will contribute to scholarship, teaching and administration, commensurate with the post of Lecturer.
You are expected to:
Research will involve the planning and conduct of individual and collaborative research projects expected to lead to the regular publication that are world-leading or internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance, and rigour. Preparation of research proposals and funding applications appropriate to the field and level will also be expected, as well as developing evidence to demonstrate the impact of research. It is expected that the research will actively contribute to the research agenda of IRC, Henley’s World of Work Institute, and other relevant centres and groups both internally and externally, e.g., the Thames Valley AI Hub.
You will be involved in teaching in a wide range of programmes, including undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in digital business and data analytics as well as general business and management, which will involve lectures, seminars, tutorials, project/dissertation supervision at all levels, together with appropriate assessment and feedback. Providing students with an effective learning experience is expected, by fully engaging with their teaching/learning and seek to enhance their practice, building on examples of good practice from a range of sources. For those with appropriate experience and expertise, there will be opportunities for teaching in Executive Education programmes.
Administration will include management of teaching provision, academic tutoring, module convening and may include other roles within the Department, School and University, along with business engagement and programme outreach activities as appropriate.
