Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lecturer in Hepatology and Gastroenterology.

in the School of Infection & Immunity. This post is fixed term (up to 2 years or up until six months after obtaining CCT, whichever is soonest). The post carries a nominal 80:20 split between clinical duties and academic/research activities, as agreed between the University of Glasgow, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and NHS Education for Scotland.

You will develop academic research skills alongside continued clinical training, building an independent research portfolio in translational hepatology or gastroenterology, generate data to support a fellowship application, and contribute to the research and teaching mission of the School of Infection and Immunity.

Although research will form an integral component of this post (approximately 20% of time), you will maintain substantive clinical duties (approximately 80% of time) within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will be expected to develop your academic profile sufficiently to be competitive for intermediate clinical fellowship funding by the end of the lectureship.

You will hold MBChB or equivalent primary medical qualification, full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise (or eligible for GMC registration if an overseas candidate) and be currently enrolled in specialty training programme in Gastroenterology or Hepatology (or a closely related specialty) in Scotland.

The post will be primarily based within the School of Infection and Immunity at the University of Glasgow (Garscube Campus/College of MVLS). Clinical duties will be undertaken at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and/or Glasgow Royal Infirmary, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
