About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated lecturer in Agriculture to join our interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality, innovative teaching across our Higher Education curricula.

Our undergraduate agriculture courses are forward thinking, and industry focussed. We are seeking applicants with knowledge of regional farming systems and specifically combinable / novel crop production and agronomy. You will play a key role in producing the graduates of the future well equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in a dynamic agri-food sector.

We are strongly commitment to excellence in learning and teaching, advancing agricultural education through inquiry-led authentic learning experiences. Our delivery is carefully designed to be inclusive fostering students’ integrated thinking and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate should have practical farming knowledge, hold a degree and a PhD or Professional Doctorate (or nearing completion within the first 18 months of employment). Experience of arable cropping and agronomy is a key requirement alongside a strong understanding of current agricultural challenges and policy change. A key part of the role is building and maintaining our strong links with local farms, industry partners and sector organisations.

You will be joining a professional and supportive team of specialists based at our Writtle Campus. Here our farm and green estate offer a living learning environment enabling real-world, scholarship-led teaching.

Informal enquiries can be made to Anya Perera, Deputy Head of Agriculture and Horticulture at Anya.Perera@aru.ac.uk.
