We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Associate in Wound Healing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and highly collaborative team tackling one of the most pressing challenges in modern healthcare: the effective treatment of complex wounds, within a dynamic and inclusive environment.

You will be responsible for:

• Be involved in the assessment of student knowledge and supervision of projects.
• Assist in the development of student research skills.
• Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research.

About You

We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You should demonstrate:

Essential Criteria:

• Have, or be about to obtain, a relevant PhD (or equivalent)
• Specialist knowledge in the discipline in tissue repair, wound healing or closely related area with knowledge on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of wound healing.
• Experience in research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes including a broad range of experience in wound healing models, experience with “Omic” approaches to tissue repair and a broad range of analytical approaches including some of the following: gel zymography, western blot, ELISA, qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, cell and tissue culture, microscopy and image analysis.
• Working with health professionals to obtain wound tissues, fluids, images for analyses.

• Flexible approach to dealing with research problems as they arise
• Willingness to learn and develop including supporting funding applications
