Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service and supporting students? Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a dedicated Student Services Assistant to join our Student Advice Team this Summer 2026.
As Student Services Assistant you will be involved in the Clearing admissions cycle and be expected to work alongside the Student Advice team answering queries in person, by telephone, and over email. You will receive in-house training on university systems and procedures and will be expected to be flexible and support other teams across the university if needed.
This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week on a fixed-term, four month contract from July to November. The hours are: Monday to Thursday, 10-6pm (with one late shift to 6:30pm) and; Friday 10-5pm. Hours may fluctuate according to need, and there will be occasional weekend work for overtime pay at time and a half.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Student Services Assistant to be part ofthe Student Advice Centre. The information and administrative support for customers that theStudent Advice serviceprovides is extensive; it is the initial point of contact for all prospective and current students in connection with their study and provides a gateway to student support at Birkbeck.

Salary and benefits
£28,502 per year. The salary, Grade 3, quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale.

Terms and Conditions
Fixed-term, four month contract 27 July-29 November 2026. Full-time (35 hours a week), Monday to Thursday, 10-6pm (with one late shift to 6:30pm) and; Friday 10-5pm. Hours may fluctuate according to need - mainly office based to staff phonelines, and occasional weekend work for overtime, at time and a half pay, and may include Saturday.
