Postdoctoral Research Associate / Fellow (1017)
This UKRI-funded full-time post is available from 1st October for a period of 3 years.

The Role
The Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate or Fellow to participate in research quantifying the causes and consequences of variation in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) transmission by migratory birds.
Using individually-marked light-bellied Brent geese as a model system, we will quantify i) the factors that shape individual resistome composition and dynamics; ii) the role of social interactions in shaping direct and indirect transmission of AMR and iii) the spatial scales at which migrants can spread AMR, including across different migratory stages.
The successful applicant will be based within the Wild Microbiome Lab (PI Xav Harrison) at the Centre for Ecology & Conservation, Cornwall Campus. This interdisciplinary project will involve substantial fieldwork in Ireland and Iceland to study the social dynamics of light-bellied Brent geese and collect AMR samples from hosts and the environment.
We anticipate interviews to occur in early August.
