About The Role

Swansea University is seeking a Technician (Aerospace Engineering) to join our Faculty Professional Services Directorate and provide high-quality technical support across teaching and research activities. Based within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, you will play a key role in ensuring Aerospace Engineering facilities operate safely, efficiently and to a high professional standard.

Working closely with academic staff, researchers, students and fellow technicians, you will support the day-to-day delivery of practical teaching sessions, research activities and demonstrations. This includes preparing laboratories and facilities, maintaining, servicing and calibrating specialist equipment, and providing expert advice and hands‑on technical assistance to users.

You will contribute to the development and adaptation of experiments, support fieldwork and site visits when required, and assist with procurement processes to ensure equipment and materials are available when needed. A strong commitment to health, safety and sustainability is essential, as you will help promote excellent standards and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

As part of a collaborative, multi‑skilled technical team, you will be encouraged to share expertise across disciplines and support colleagues during busy periods or absences, helping to build resilience across the university. Swansea University is a proud signatory of the Technician Commitment, and this role offers opportunities to engage in professional development, networking and continuous skills enhancement within both the higher education and wider engineering sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated technician to make a meaningful contribution to student experience, research excellence and technical innovation in Aerospace Engineering.
