About the Role
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Department of Psychology at Queen Mary University of London to work with Dr. Eda Mizrak on a Medical Research Council (MRC)-funded project investigating working memory (WM)-supportive learning environments for individuals with ADHD. The post holder will work closely with the PI and research team on an innovative project examining how simple task and environmental adjustments can improve cognitive performance and learning outcomes in ADHD.
The project combines experimental psychology, cognitive science, and digital learning approaches. The successful applicant will contribute to a programme of online behavioural experiments, development of an adaptive learning platform, participant recruitment and coordination, advanced data analysis, and dissemination of findings through publications and conferences. The post holder will also work collaboratively with individuals with lived experience of ADHD through advisory panels to ensure that the research remains practical and relevant to real-world educational settings.
About You
A successful applicant should have, or expect to soon receive, a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, psychiatry, cognitive science, experimental psychology, or a related discipline. The post holder should have experience conducting behavioural or experimental research, experience working with statistical software such as R or Python or similar programmes, evidence of contributions to published research, excellent organisational and project management skills, experience working effectively within a research team, and the ability to work independently. Experience programming online experiments or digital cognitive tasks (e.g., PsychoPy, Gorilla, jsPsych, lab.js, JavaScript) and experience working with ADHD or neurodivergent populations are desirable. Interest and/or experience with patient and public involvement (PPI) or co-production approaches is also desirable. The post holder will work closely with the PI, other researchers involved in the project, and students in Dr Mizrak’s research group.
