About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Project Manager to join the Cancer Research UK Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) at Queen Mary University of London.
The CPTU designs and delivers large-scale, multi-centre trials in cancer screening, prevention and early diagnosis, often using complex, decentralised approaches.
We are looking for an experienced project manager to join the CPTU as the Clinical Project Manager for the BEST4 Screening trial. In this role, you will be responsible for the leadership and project management of the trial, ensuring the trial is executed and delivered as per all agreed milestones and is delivered to the highest standards.
About You
You will have extensive senior-level experience in clinical trials and project/programme management, ideally within large or complex studies. You will have a proven track record of delivering complex projects and be confident working independently, making decisions, solving problems and escalating when needed.
You will have strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and experience managing staff, with the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively. Experience of building strategic relationships with external partners, strong communication skills, adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to improving public health through research are essential.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to 450 staff, 100 PhD students and 500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six separate research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CCSPED) forms part of the WIPH and brings together globally leading researchers focusing on cancer prevention, screening and detection and early diagnosis across two units. CCSPED also hosts the cross-cutting Cancer Behavioural Science group and the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU, Director, Sasieni).
