Technical Operations plays a critical role in supporting this mission, providing frontline technical expertise across UCL’s diverse campus environment. We are seeking an experienced Technical Operations Team Leader to help deliver high-quality IT, AV and network support services across the university.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of engineers delivering responsive, customer-focused support for desktop, laptop, network and audio-visual technologies. You will oversee day-to-day service delivery, ensuring incidents and requests are resolved efficiently and service standards are consistently met.
As a key member of the Technical Operations team, you will provide technical leadership, act as an escalation point for complex issues and work collaboratively with colleagues across ISD to drive service improvements. You will also support the development of your team through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
This full-time role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of three days per week on campus (subject to change).
About you
You will bring experience of leading technical support teams within a customer-focused IT environment and have a strong understanding of desktop, network and AV technologies. You will be confident managing competing priorities, maintaining high service standards and working within an ITIL-aligned environment.
With strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills, you will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, developing others and driving continuous improvement across a complex organisation.
