About the role
You will coordinate the Bodleian Libraries’ programme of outgoing loans and touring exhibitions, as well as incoming loans for our exhibition programme. Working with curators, conservators, transport providers and partner organisations in the UK and internationally, you will manage all aspects of the loans process, from documentation and insurance through to transport, installation and display.
You will also contribute to the development of loans procedures and help ensure the safe and successful movement of some of the Bodleian Libraries’ most significant collections.
This is a permanent part-time post, working 30 hours per week.
Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a satisfactory Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
About You
You will have experience of registration work within a library, archive, museum or gallery environment and knowledge of collections handling, transport and exhibition loans procedures. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and confident working both independently and collaboratively.
You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to remain effective under pressure. Knowledge of Government Indemnity and commercial insurance is essential, as is proficiency in common IT packages and databases. A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive on University business are required.
