Lecturer / Associate Professor in Primate or Human Evolutionary Anatomy

Biosciences is one of the world’s foremost centres for research and teaching in the biological sciences and one of the largest Divisions within UCL, undertaking a significant amount of research and teaching.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the UCL Centre for Integrative Anatomy. The Centre is a research unit within the wider department that is focused on vertebrate structure, function and evolution, using a multidisciplinary approach centred around advanced imaging.

About the role

The main purpose of this position is to take an active role in developing an internationally competitive research programme in the field of primate and/or human evolutionary anatomy, and conducting research-led teaching and training of undergraduate and graduate students in human and comparative anatomy. Alongside teaching delivery, you will also be expected to contribute to programme management and other aspects of citizenship within the department.

• Salary: £54,931-£64,644 (Lecturer) / £68,284-£76,244 (Associate Professor)

About you

You must have a PhD or equivalent in primate or human evolutionary anatomy or a related subject area, with evidence of an ability to deliver and publish internationally excellent research. In addition to developing and conducting the research, you will communicate results as scientific papers and in scientific presentations at local, national, and international conferences.

Experience in teaching anatomy to medical and/or bioscience students is also essential.
