The Australian Institute of Future Education (AIFE) is an Australian Authority (TEQSA) accredited higher education provider, focused on advancing transnational and global academic collaboration.

The Opportunity

We are seeking qualified and experienced English for Academic Purposes (EAP) educators to join our international academic team in China.

In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of AIFE’s EAP curriculum, supporting university students to develop the academic English skills required for success in international higher education pathways. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver EAP curriculum to undergraduate students (Years 1–3)
  • Support development of students’ academic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
  • Facilitate tutorials and student engagement activities, including English Corner sessions
  • Assist students preparing for AIFE’s Direct Entry Program (DEP)
  • Participate in co-teaching alongside local academic staff
  • Contribute to academic research and professional development activities
  • Collaborate with academic teams to ensure effective curriculum delivery and student outcomes

Workload

  • Full-time, 38 hours per week
  • 18–20 hours teaching
  • 18–20 hours non-teaching duties including preparation, marking, student support and team collaboration 

Teaching Environment

AIFE operates a collaborative co-teaching model, pairing international academics with local Chinese educators. You will be supported by:

  • Branch Managers
  • Course Leaders
  • Academic and Learning Support staff

This structure ensures strong academic delivery and a supportive working environment. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Eligibility for a Chinese Z visa
  • Hold a recognised TESOL, TEFL or CELTA qualification (minimum requirement)
  • Hold a Master’s degree (minimum requirement)
  • Ideally have minimum 3 years’ EAP teaching experience, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Strong student engagement and classroom management skills
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach to teaching
