The role

The University of Bristol Business School is inviting applications for an outstanding Lecturer in International Business and Strategy (Teaching pathway, P3) on a full time and open-ended basis.

We are seeking to recruit a candidate with a strong track record in teaching and scholarship who is keen to be involved in the development of the Strategy Group. Our teaching and research address business strategy and strategic decision making, internationalisation and international operations of firms, mergers and acquisitions, digital platforms and, across all subjects, wicked problems and sustainability. The impact and engagement of our teaching and research extend from the local economy to global institutions.

The group is involved in undergraduate, postgraduate and executive teaching in the Business School and beyond. Applications are sought from candidates whose teaching expertise would align with and extend the existing strengths of the group, specifically in the areas of: 

  • Strategy, AI, and data analytics
  • International business (including international negotiations, international trade, cross-cultural management, digital platforms)
  • Wicked problems and sustainability

We care deeply about education and the student experience. We expect the candidate to provide inspiring and innovative teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or executive levels. We are increasing our interdisciplinary programmes and therefore experience of designing programmes and teaching with colleagues from other disciplines is an advantage.

What will you be doing?

We wish to appoint a Lecturer on the teaching pathway (P3) who can provide relevant teaching and scholarship, and who will be involved in the delivery and development of the group's teaching offering. 

You should apply if

We are looking for someone who is

  • Teaching at all levels, including post-experience education
  • Fulfilling the role of a Unit Director and developing units where needed
  • Acting as a personal tutor for undergraduate students, and supervising MSc and UG dissertations
  • Designing and administering assessments, marking exams and coursework papers
  • Actively engaging with pedagogical scholarship
  • Contributing to the development of teaching and pedagogy within the group ad across the School
  • Providing administration/leadership within the School or University through relevant teams, groups and committees
  • Leading on curriculum development and enhancement in line with the School’s ambition and strategy
