The role
The University of Bristol is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Engineering Education on Pathway 3, with a focus on Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of one of the UK’s largest Electrical and Electronic Engineering programmes. We are looking for someone who is passionate about engineering education and who can bring vision, creativity and leadership to the development of our curriculum and student experience.
You will join a School with a strong reputation for teaching and research and play a central role in the continued evolution of our Electrical and Electronic Engineering provision. Working with colleagues across the School, you will lead on the creation of a coherent, inclusive and future-focused educational experience that prepares graduates for a rapidly changing engineering profession.
This role offers a rare opportunity to influence programme architecture, assessment strategy, curriculum innovation and educational leadership at scale.
What will you be doing?
You will lead curriculum review, enhancement and redesign activities across our Electrical and Electronic Engineering undergraduate programmes and help shape the future direction of engineering education within the School. Working with colleagues from across the School, you will develop coherent programme structures that support student progression, engagement and success, while ensuring that programmes remain sustainable, resilient, aligned with future needs and eligible for ongoing professional accreditation.
You will develop innovative and inclusive approaches to learning, teaching and assessment, contribute to accreditation and other quality assurance activities, and use evidence, feedback and educational insight to enhance the student experience. You will also teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and help build an educational environment in which students from a wide range of backgrounds can thrive and achieve their potential.
You should apply if
You have experience of teaching in higher education and have contributed to curriculum, programme or educational development activities. You enjoy working collaboratively and can influence change through engagement, leadership and the ability to bring colleagues together around a shared educational vision.
You are interested in the future of engineering education, committed to inclusive education and student success, and motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a large and strategically important engineering programme.
We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, computing and related disciplines.
The University of Bristol is committed to creating an inclusive environment that values diversity and enables all members of our community to achieve their full potential.
