The Department of Computer Science is seeking two experienced and proactive HR professionals to join our ambitious and evolving HR team. These newly created roles sit at the heart of an exciting redesign of our HR service, offering the opportunity to lead HR delivery across a diverse stakeholder group within a world-leading department that continues to grow and evolve.

Working in partnership with managers and staff across designated departmental Themes, you will deliver a high-quality, people-focused HR service across the full employee lifecycle. You will take ownership of a broad portfolio of activity, including recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning, organisational change, immigration compliance and employee lifecycle processes.

Working alongside a dedicated HR Coordinator, you will provide expert advice, practical solutions and proactive support, ensuring a consistent, compliant and customer-focused service. You will also play a key role in embedding a new HR operating model built on ownership, partnership and continuous improvement, while supporting the development of colleagues and contributing to wider service improvement and change initiatives.

About You: You will be an experienced HR professional with strong generalist knowledge, excellent judgement and the confidence to work independently in a busy and complex environment. You will enjoy building relationships, solving problems and delivering pragmatic people solutions.

Experience of working within the University of Oxford or another higher education environment would be advantageous, particularly knowledge of University HR policies, procedures and systems. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with strong HR experience gained in the private, public or not-for-profit sectors who are keen to apply their expertise in a complex and intellectually stimulating environment.

These roles are ideal for experienced HR Advisors, HR Officers or Senior HR Officers, who enjoy driving improvement, taking ownership and making a tangible impact. You will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of HR service delivery while supporting a diverse and growing community of staff.

This role offers a flexibility of hybrid working with a mixture of on-site and remote working possible. The usual on-site presence for departmental staff is 3 days per week.
