We are currently looking for a Subject Lead in English/Study Skills/EAP (ILSC) to join our bustling and vibrant team at Manchester Metropolitan University International College! Hours of Work: Part Time - 5 per week

Length of contract: 12 months Fixed Term

subject areas, including curriculum development, module management, assessment design, and quality assurance. You will lead a team of tutors and coordinate with professional services staff to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained. Additionally, you will actively participate in teaching activities within your subject area, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and academic excellence. Teaching hours will be paid in addition to the coordination role.

Subject Lead Duties: 

The role involves managing subject-specific curriculum and assessment, ensuring quality standards are met, supporting tutor development, and facilitating communication among staff and students. You will also oversee assessments, participate in review boards, and contribute to programme review and reporting processes. This is a vital role in ensuring our academic programmes meet industry-leading standards and support student success.

Subject Lead Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s) in a relevant discipline; including a Language Teaching Qualification (TOEFL, CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Proven experience of teaching in English to International Students with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with staff and students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English, demonstrating clear and professional communication.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and workloads effectively.
