We are seeking an enthusiastic and professionally registered optometrist to join the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry as a Senior Clinical Teacher. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the next generation of optometrists by delivering high-quality clinical and practical teaching, supervising students in patient-facing environments, and supporting them to develop the knowledge, confidence and professional judgement required for effective practice. Working alongside academic, clinical and professional services colleagues, you will contribute to a supportive, collaborative teaching environment.
The successful candidate will bring applied knowledge of optometry practice, experience of clinical or practical teaching/supervision, and a clear commitment to patient safety, clinical governance and professional standards. You will be assured communicating clinical information, providing constructive feedback, supporting student learning needs and contributing to the smooth running of teaching clinics, including flexibility outside of term time where required. This is a full‑time, fixed‑term post for 12 months, from 1st September 2026 to 31st August 2027, based at the University’s Oxford Road campus.
