The University of Aberdeen joint partnership with Northwest University (NWU), China will be Launching in September 2026, to deliver one four-year undergraduate degree programmes (MA Financial Mathematics). This programme will be closely aligned with the content and academic standards of the existing degrees offered at the University of Aberdeen, ensuring consistency in curriculum, learning outcomes and quality assurance across campuses. 

Students registered on these programmes will complete their studies entirely in China, with teaching delivered jointly by NWU and Aberdeen staff, with the latter travelling to China to do so.  Whilst the lectureship will be based in Aberdeen, the post will involve extended stays of at least a semester in China annually.

The Business School is seeking to make one appointment at Lecturer level to support the delivery of a range of courses in at our University of Aberdeen-Northwest University (NWU) in Xi’an, China. We welcome applications from all areas of Economics. The appointment is open to candidates interested in Teaching & Research position. We look to appoint academics who understand and have experience of delivering teaching to and assessing international students, especially Chinese students. We are seeking to appointment someone who is ready to join an ambitious school and take on responsibility for a growing curriculum. The successful candidate will take responsibility for degree programme design, the quality assurance delivery and assessment of courses on the programme and liaising with academic and admin colleagues in Aberdeen and China. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute research outputs in the fields of Economics related to the School’s strategic focus.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 salary scale, £47,389 - £56,535 per annum, pro rata and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
