Fashion Management Lecturer

We’re looking for a forward-thinking Lecturer to contribute to our BSc (Hons) Fashion Management and Strategy degree delivered in partnership with Arts University Bournemouth, a values-driven programme that blends business acumen with creative and cultural insight.

Fashion is evolving, and so is how we teach it. This course is designed to develop strategic thinkers and responsible leaders who can navigate complex global challenges across fashion and lifestyle industries.

As a Lecturer, you’ll play a central role in delivering a curriculum that emphasises:

  • Ethical and sustainable business practices
  • Consumer insight and data-informed decision making
  • Global fashion systems and cultural contexts
  • Entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership

You’ll contribute across a dynamic, industry-aligned curriculum, including areas such as:

  • Fashion systems, culture, and industry structures.
  • Consumer behaviour, segmentation, and trend analysis.
  • Fashion merchandising, supply chains, and business operations.
  • Digital marketing, social media strategy, and content ecosystems.
  • Sustainable and responsible fashion management.

Teaching is collaborative and interdisciplinary, reflecting real-world industry practice working alongside colleagues and students across marketing, media, and content creation.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings industry insight or research expertise in fashion or related fields.
  • Can deliver engaging, practice-based teaching that connects theory to real-world application.
  • Supports inclusive, student-centred learning across diverse cohorts
  • Encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation
  • Is confident integrating digital tools, data, and emerging technologies (including AI) into teaching.
  • Can contribute toward development of course materials as a part of a wider team.
  • Will be comfortable working as a part of a wider teaching team within UKMC helping to deliver other course materials adjacent to your area of expertise.
  • Has experience of working with students with English as a second language would be an advantage.

Qualifications / requirements of applicants

  • Should hold an MA, equivalent or higher qualification in a subject related to Fashion Management and Strategy.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in teaching in an FE / HE environment.
  • Should hold a teaching qualification or be willing to undertake study toward qualification upon offer of role.
  • Candidates with extensive professional experience and experience lecturing would also be considered.

Location

On site, 5 days per week, in either Salford, Derby or Sunderland.
