Technical Team Leader

Hours of work: Full-time – 35 hours/week

We are looking to appoint a Technical Team Leader to provide an effective and efficient technical service supporting staff and students within the School of Engineering.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional individual to lead a team supporting teaching and research activity, primarily within the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory facilities, supporting students in the use of engineering equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and delivering high-quality technical support.

You will be responsible for the organisation and supervision of technical facilities, including laboratories and workshops, ensuring that they operate safely, efficiently, and in line with academic needs. You will lead and support a team of technical staff, contributing to the development of practical teaching activities, managing resources, and helping shape the future direction of laboratory provision.

The role will involve working closely with academic colleagues to support teaching and research, advising on equipment and techniques, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
