Background of department/role
Join Canterbury Christ Church University at an exciting time as we reshape how digital services are designed and delivered.

As part of our newly established Digital Products team, you'll play an important role in improving the digital experiences that support students, staff and the wider University community. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you'll help design intuitive, accessible and user-centred services that make a real difference to everyday interactions across the University.

As our Associate Digital Service Designer, you will support the design and continuous improvement of end-to-end digital services. You'll use service design, UX and customer experience methodologies to understand user needs, map journeys, redesign business processes and help create seamless digital experiences that deliver measurable value.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in service design, UX or customer experience who enjoys solving problems, facilitating workshops, analysing user insight and collaborating with technical and business teams. You'll be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and passionate about designing services around the needs of users.

To be successful, you'll have experience applying user-centred design principles, conducting research and translating insights into practical service improvements. You'll be comfortable working across the full service lifecycle and able to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience of journey mapping, service blueprinting, business process analysis and stakeholder engagement is essential.

Desirable requirements include experience working in Higher Education or another large, complex organisation, together with familiarity with Agile delivery and relevant qualifications in Service Design, UX or Customer Experience.
