DTU Engineering Technology invites applications for a Full Professor in Digital Technologies in Health with focus on designing new trusted technologies and systems with respect to multisensory experiences.  The position is anchored in the Energy Technology and Computer Science section pursuing the ambition of addressing the three key societal challenges: trusted tech, strengthening the robustness of critical infrastructures, and promoting social inclusion and reintegration through technology. This is pursued through a distinctly interdisciplinary approach, where collaboration is the foundation. 

We prioritize working together, engaging each other in our work, and we all benefit from our joint strong collaboration with industry. We work in the intersection of energy technology, computer science, and health technology, with a focus on developing secure, intelligent, and societally relevant solutions that create value for both industry and society. This position will strengthen our profile with focus on interaction and multisensory experiences through digital technologies. 

Responsibilities and qualifications

Your overall focus will be to establish and lead our research in implementing digital technologies in health. You are expected to strengthen our competencies in spatial audio and multisensory systems for health technology, contributing to digital engineering and human-centered system design. You will develop advanced immersive technologies with societal impact for better and more inclusive lives. To do so, you will work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues internally at the department and at DTU, as well as you will embody our departmental focus and trademark of a close practice collaboration. We expect you to bring new clinical and industrial partners as well as international to our ecosystem. 

The position emphasizes translation of research into practical applications, and we expect you to be able to develop research infrastructures for immersive and ecologically valid evaluation environments along with academic and technical administrative colleagues. You will provide leadership and shape long-term research directions within immersive health technologies.

Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Lead research in the implementation of digital technologies in health, with perspectives on the construction sector, the production sector, and the life science and health sector.
  • Lead research in spatial audio and multisensory experiences for health applications
  • Lead the development of teaching and also teach within the BEng Health Tech study program
  • Engage students in lab activities through teaching, research collaboration, and extracurricular activities
  • Lead interdisciplinary projects with academic, clinical, and industry partners – and students
  • Be a thought leader and exemplify how to take academic citizenship with colleagues as well as students
  • Contribute to departmental and institutional strategic development
