About The Role

Learn Welsh Swansea Bay Region is seeking to appoint a Workforce Tutor to deliver Welsh language courses to employees across a range of sectors, and to provide motivating, high-quality teaching and support to learners at all levels.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join the Learn Welsh Swansea Bay Region (DCABA) team as a part-time Workforce Tutor. This is a fixed-term appointment until 31 July 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to future funding arrangements within the Learn Welsh sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering Welsh language courses to employers and workplaces, with the aim of increasing the number of people learning and using Welsh across a range of sectors and organisations. The tutor will normally teach between 10 and 12 hours per week, either face-to-face or online, and should be able to teach learners at all levels, from beginners to proficiency level.

The role includes assessing and supporting learners, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders, and helping to maintain the high quality of provision. The postholder will also be part of a national network of Workplace Tutors led by the National Centre for Learning Welsh.

Applicants should possess a high standard of Welsh, substantial experience of teaching Welsh to adults, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to use digital technologies effectively to support learning and contributing to informal learning activities.

The ability to travel throughout the Swansea Bay region and to work flexibly in line with the needs of the provision is essential.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 3 - Fluently. The role holder will be able to conduct a fluent conversation in Welsh on a work-related matter and write original Welsh material with confidence.
